6/8/09-A bill died in committee that was intended to prevent transportation money from being diverted for other uses.
Sponsored by Senate Transportation Chairman John Carona, R-Dallas, SB216 would have limited the use of state highway funds for highway-related projects. It also authorized highway funds to be used for loan repayment as appropriated by the Texas Constitution, and approved by the Legislature.

3/16/09-A bill in the Senate Transportation and Homeland Security Committee is intended to prevent transportation money from being diverted for other uses.
Sponsored by Senate Transportation Chairman John Carona, R-Dallas, SB216 would limit the use of state highway funds for highway-related projects. It also would authorize highway funds to be used for loan repayment as appropriated by the Texas Constitution, and approved by the Legislature.

12/18/08-Senate Transportation Chairman John Carona, R-Dallas, has prefiled a bill for consideration during the upcoming regular session that is intended to prevent transportation money from being diverted for other uses.
