10/1/09-A bill that will have to wait until next year for further consideration would double the penalty amount for “high-risk carriers” that have repeat violations of the same violation during a follow-up compliance review.
HB1574 would allow motor carriers not identified as high risk to request penalty mitigation.
At the end of the 2009 regular session, the bill remained in the House Transportation Committee. It can be brought back for consideration during the 2010 session.
The Senate version – SB5815 – is in the Senate Transportation Committee.
