Heads Up, Wyoming truckers!
At the direction of the Wyoming state legislature, the Wyoming Department of Transportation has hired a consultant to do a feasibility study on tolling I-80. As part of the study, WYDOT is asking for public comment regarding this proposal. A series of public meetings were held from mid-June through mid-July, however, the department was surprised and disappointed by the lack of comments they received from the trucking community.
If you use I-80 through Wyoming and would like to “weigh in” on this proposal, you are urged to contact WYDOT to voice your concerns and opinions about tolling I-80 through Wyoming. You may contact WYDOT by mail at Timothy McDowell, WYDOT Planning Program, 5300 Bishop Blvd., Cheyenne, WY 82009-3340 or by email at tollingstudy@dot.state.wy.us.
If you would like to read additional information about the proposal, please visit the following link: http://www.dot.state.wy.us/wydot/planning_projects/studies_plans/I-80_tolling_study
Remember: increased tolls across this country will become a reality unless we get involved and make our voices heard! Please let your state know how you feel about tolls on any road and especially existing interstate highways!
