OOIDA National Call to Action Alert – Speed limiters
As you know, the provinces of Ontario and Quebec recently enacted laws that require speed limiters be set to 105 km/h (65 mph), regardless of where the truck is domiciled.  OOIDA is working hard to make sure this ridiculous policy doesn’t spread to other Canadian provinces or even to the U.S. To make sure this doesn’t happen, we need your help!

The Ohio legislature is currently working to pass the state's budget.  The Senate Transportation Committee placed an amendment in the budget for ODOT.  This amendment included many changes to the bill, much of it removing provisions recommended by the Governor and already passed by the House.  Recently, the full Senate passed this bill.  Most of these changes will positively affect trucking.

Attention Illinois truckers! Three bills at the Illinois statehouse that need your immediate attention could come up for floor votes as early as this week. Two bills would eliminate the speed gap between trucks and other vehicles on rural, interstate highways. One more bill would eliminate the commercial distribution fee.

If you happen to be planning to attend the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky next week, I would like to borrow a few minutes of your time while you are there to talk about issues specific to Ohio and how we might work together better to address those issues.

OOIDA Call to Action - National
URGENT!!! With the U.S. DOT's crossborder trucking pilot program on the ropes, big money interests are playing hardball.  They are pulling out all stops to pressure your Senators to keep the door open for Mexico-domiciled trucking companies and truck drivers to operate throughout the U.S.
