March 2, 2009 - URGENT!!!
With the U.S. DOT's crossborder trucking pilot program on the ropes, big money interests are playing hardball. They are pulling out all stops to pressure your Senators to keep the door open for Mexico-domiciled trucking companies and truck drivers to operate throughout the U.S.
As you know, last week the U.S. House of Representatives passed the "FY09 Omnibus Appropriations" bill that included a provision (Section 136) that will effectively kill the Mexican trucking pilot program once and for all. By this evening, the Senate will begin the process of debating and amending that same legislation.
We have learned that multinational corporations and other big money interests are twisting Senators' arms to get them to remove or water down the Mexican trucking provision in the omnibus appropriations bill.
With victory close at hand, all of us need to be contacting both of our Senators to tell them to keep the crossborder trucking provision intact and end the Mexican trucking pilot program. Please call both of your Senators today to tell them and their staff to support Section 136 of the Omnibus Appropriations bill and end the crossborder trucking pilot program.
To contact the 2 Senators from your state, call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121, provide the operator with your home state and they will connect you with the appropriate offices.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call the Association at 1-800-444-5791.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE CAPITOL HILL TAKE NOTICE.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE LIFE BETTER FOR TRUCKERS THROUGHOUT AMERICA.
