3/12/10-The House Roads, Bridges and Ports Policy Committee unanimously approved a bill that would prohibit people from reading, typing or sending text messages.
Sponsored by Rep. Doug Holder, R-Sarasota, HB41 would fine violators $30.

10/5/09-Rep. Doug Holder, R-Sarasota, has prefiled a bill for consideration during the 2010 regular session that would prohibit people from reading, typing or sending text messages.
Under HB41, offenders would face fines of $30.
The bill has been referred to multiple committees where it can be considered during the session that begins in March.
