Dear Member,

Your input is being sought on a multi-year program that is being developed by IDOT for funding, building and maintaining roadways. Seven public hearings are scheduled for this month.

IDOT is developing its upcoming Multi-Year Road Program for Highway Improvements for Fiscal Years 2012-2017. Department officials say the current multi-year program for 2011-2016 totals about $12.84 billion and focuses on maintenance of the current road system.

Public hearings are scheduled Monday through Thursday, Oct. 4-7, with another round scheduled for Oct. 18-21. Written comments are due by Nov. 1.

The format for the public meetings is informal, and there will not be a formal presentation. The public is invited to speak with officials or file comment sheets during the sessions. IDOT began its series of meetings back in August. There are seven left.
