6/15/10-A bill has died that sought to prohibit all drivers from text messaging while at the wheel.
With certain exceptions, state law already bans those 21 years old and younger from sending messages while driving.
Rep. Tom Shively, D-Shelbyville, was the sponsor of HB1315.

12/7/09-Rep. Tom Shively, D-Shelbyville, has prefiled a bill for consideration during the 2010 regular session that would prohibit all drivers from text messaging while at the wheel.
With certain exceptions, state law already bans those 21 years old and younger from sending messages while driving.
HB1315 is awaiting assignment to committee for the session that begins Jan. 6.
