OOIDA Information Update – West Virginia members
Dear Member, OOIDA Life Member Scott Cadle has organized a truck convoy to protest the proposed U.S. Route 35 toll project is planned for Monday, Jan. 24. The convoy will travel from Henderson, WV, to the West Virginia Parkways Authority and then to the state capital with the intention of meeting with state delegates and hopefully, the governor.

OOIDA Call to Action - New York members
You need to contact your state lawmakers NOW about bills in the New York Senate that single out professional drivers. One bill would permit police to pull over truck drivers and others whose vehicles are not cleared of snow, ice or hail. The bad news doesn’t end there. Another effort would allow New York City to post ticket cameras in “No Truck” zones.

NATIONAL CALL-TO-ACTION: Cross-border trucking with Mexico
Folks in Washington need to hear from you! Yesterday the U.S. DOT released a “Concept Document” that it contends will serve as a starting point for renewed negotiations with Mexico regarding a potential future cross-border trucking program. While this document is not a formal proposal for a new program it is a big step in that direction.

Dear Member, There is an opportunity to make your voice heard on the proposed U.S. Route 35 toll project that could carry a toll of $1.21 per mile for five-axle vehicles. A public comment period remains open until Jan. 21.
