Lawmakers have headed home for their summer break. They will be returning to D.C. after Labor Day.
No agreement has been reached on funding for the 6-year highway bill, so this and other contentious issues are on hold until September.
During the break many lawmakers will be making public appearances and campaigning for votes in November. This will create opportunities for face-to-face meetings. Lawmakers should be hearing from truckers (and every highway user) about the Senate's proposal to place tolls on existing interstate highways.
Below are the names of lawmakers that are on the conference committee that have already voted in favor of wide spread tolls on the interstates or have indicated they plan to vote for these tolls in the highway bill.
If one or more of your elected officials is on this list, please contact them at every opportunity.
Note: The phone numbers listed are the local offices. If your elected officials are on this list you should also call and write the D.C. office.
