do you like about the industry?: |
"At
the end of the day or trip, you can realize a sense of accomplishment...you
covered the miles, moved the freight, possibly saved someone's life
because you were paying attention when they weren't... " |

do you dislike about the industry?: |
"Like farmers
and ranchers, truckers provide it at wholesale and pay retail
for everthing we use...in a very real sense, others determine how much
we earn and have left at the end of the day." |

makes you successful as an owner-operator?: |
"Watching
where your income is from and where it goes to...all your
profit for the day can go into a pinball machine or the like " |

"Back when
my hair was all the same color, OOIDA was the only group
out there sticking up for small operators...now that my hair is all the
same
other color, they still are looking out for us." |
