OOIDA, ATA 'square off'

OOIDA's Jim Johnston and ATA's Bill Graves have been exchanging letters in recent weeks. In September, the OOIDA president sent a letter to trucking executives complaining about ATA's lack of opposition to the HOS rules setting off a heated exchange.

According to an Oct. 31 article published in Traffic World, Johnston says he believes ATA has "lost its way and that it no longer represents effectively the broad constituency that makes up the motor carrier industry."
