Court denies Mexican truck suit

The 9th U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco May 2 rejected a request by a coalition of environmental, public advocacy, trucking industry and labor groups to prevent Mexican trucks from operating in the United States, AP reported.

The suit sought an emergency injunction to reverse federal regulations set to take effect this week to allow about 30,000 Mexican-based trucks to operate within the United States.

The court issued its decision one day after the coalition sued the U.S. Department of Transportation to prevent the rules from taking effect.
