Director of Legislative Affairs joins OOIDA
The Owner-Operator Independent Driver’s Association welcomes Collin Long to the Washington DC office as Director of Legislative Affairs. He will share responsibility in advancing the Association’s government affairs agenda on behalf of OOIDA members.
He is originally from Allentown, Penn. and graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. in international relations.
He began his career in Washington as a staffer for U.S. Representative Charlie Dent, R-Pa. He subsequently served as senior director of government affairs for the Portland Cement Association (PCA), representing America’s cement manufacturers on Capitol Hill. During his time in D.C., Long has worked on a variety of transportation issues.
“Collin has a thorough knowledge of the transportation industry, along with a comprehensive understanding of the legislative process,” said OOIDA Director of Government Affairs Laura O’Neill-Kaumo. “He is a tremendous addition to our D.C. staff.”
O’Neill-Kaumo leads OOIDA’s government affairs team in D.C. In addition to Long, her staff includes Jay Grimes, manager of federal affairs.
OOIDA’s government affairs staff also includes Director of State Legislative Affairs Mike Matousek, and Director of Regulatory Affairs Scott Grenerth. Matousek and Grenerth are based at OOIDA headquarters in Grain Valley, Mo. Both of the Association’s government affairs teams – D.C. and Grain Valley – are directed by OOIDA Executive Vice President Todd Spencer.
