Land Line Now launches 2GO podcast

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association congratulates Land Line Now for making all shows available in the Land Line Now 2Go podcast.

Beginning today, OOIDA’s official radio program will offer its full show the following day at 6 a.m. Eastern streaming online at LandLineNow.com. For those on the road and listening to audio on their phone, the show can be accessed as a podcast on various podcast apps as well.

“Ultimately, our mission at Land Line Now is to gather information important to truckers and then make sure we get it to as many of them as possible. Putting our show online is an extension of what we’re already doing, but an important one in terms of reaching as many truck drivers as possible with good accurate information that matters to their daily lives,” said Mark Reddig, program director.

To start it off right, Land Line Now will be broadcasting  a special two-part story on the song “Convoy” by C.W. McCall – in part because the song begins with the words, “Was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June” – and June 6 is the 13th anniversary of the show.

The story will include an interview with the song’s composer, Bill Fries (C.W. McCall). In the final weeks of 1975, a song was released onto the country music charts. The song’s producers weren’t sure it would be very popular. But it still flew to Number 1 on the charts, and started a trucker craze that lasted the better part of a decade.

T-shirts promoting the podcast are also available for purchase, with $5 of each purchase going to the OOIDA Mary Johnston Scholarship Fund. Here is the link where they can be purchased:
