The essay contest is held yearly. All applications must be postmarked no later than February 1st.
The OOIDA Scholarship Program is available to children, grandchildren and legal dependents of OOIDA members. Members’ spouses and children over 22 years of age are not eligible for the OOIDA Scholarship program.
In order to be considered a legal dependent of an OOIDA member, the applicant must be considered for tax purposes as a dependent. In other words, if the member can claim the applicant as a deduction for tax purposes, the Committee considers the applicant as a legal dependent.
Yes, the applicant must be under the age of 22 as of the deadline date.
Yes. In lieu of proof of enrollment or a letter of acceptance, you may submit a separate statement to the committee which outlines what college you plan on attending and a description of your intended major. At such time that you are accepted at a college, you will need to provide proof of your acceptance/enrollment as soon as practicable to the committee.
Yes. As long as the applicant is under the age of 22 as of the deadline date.
As long as the member is a full dues paying member ($45.00 member), dependents are eligible. Most memberships paid for by carriers are considered to be “associate” memberships that do not provide the same level benefits available to the full dues paying member.
