Truckers For Troops
OOIDA sponsors the Truckers for Troops® campaign which raises funds for sending care packages to military serving in combat zones as well as the Veterans Community Project (VCP), making a difference in the lives of homeless veterans.
Next Campaign: November 9-15, 2026
During campaign dates, truckers can join or renew for $35, with 10 percent of that money going toward Truckers for Troops, which provides care packages and support to veterans.
OOIDA will then match the 10 percent dollar for dollar. The $35 one-year membership is a savings of $10 off regular $45 yearly dues.
Since 2007, OOIDA members have raised more than $800,000 for care packages and to support veterans causes
If you know someone serving overseas that would like a care package, please let us know. Family or friends of U.S. military members can send package addresses to troops@ooida.com.
The care packages, a cornerstone of the original campaign, aren’t a shoebox stuffed with a few goodies like one might imagine. Rather they are 24X24X24 inches in size and weigh upwards of 70 pounds. They are packed tight with things ranging from practical like socks to fun stuff like squirt guns and silly string. The care packages typically weigh in at more than 70 pounds and have enough contents to serve an entire unit. It’s important to note that 100% of the money raised goes toward the care packages and Veterans Community Project. All of the packing, mailing, etc., is done by OOIDA volunteer employees to stretch every dollar raised to the max.

Individual tax-deductible contributions to the Truckers for Troops fund are also welcome and can be paid to the OOIDA Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
